Trustee Treasurer
ACE Cardiff

Job Description

ACE Cardiff is a small and vibrant educational charity working in the Butetown and Grangetown areas of Cardiff. With our two main projects we deliver English lessons to adults and out-of-school learning activities to children in an area of Cardiff that falls into one or more areas of deprivation (Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation 2019). Our ethos is to help people improve their life through education, be it through better connections with their community by improving their English or helping children to be more curious and confidence about learning in The Learning Club.

We are seeking a Trustee Treasurer to monitor our finances as well as offer ongoing support as a trustee. The successful candidate will manage the overall finances of the organisation and maintain financial accuracy and compliance, working together with a member of staff who manages the day-to-day bookkeeping, volunteer expense management and purchasing.

As part of a small charity, we would be looking for someone to become a key part of the organisation and help us continue to grow and thrive, therefore, the ideal candidate would have sufficient time available to help us do this.

Responsibilities:

  • attending Trustee Meetings and reporting on the financial position on a bi-monthly basis
  • preparing the end of year accounts
  • developing financial procedures and ensuring these are maintained
  • planning future budgeting and presenting financial forecasts
  • providing secondary authorisation on the monthly payment run
  • support with bid writing
  • offer ad hoc support and advice to small team of staff

Person specification:

  • Chartered Accountant qualification or other accountancy equivalent
  • reliable, honest and trustworthy
  • excellent organisational skills
  • capable of using mainstream digital software

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
