Job Description

The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, groups and businesses in the community. The team also run campaigns to bring in new fundraisers and income through third party and mass participation events and manage these relationships to maximise income.

As the Marketing & Engagement Manager, you will manage two Marketing Campaigns Officers to support the work of the Regional, Sporting Events and Corporate teams to deliver our strategy and meet our annual income target.

You will: lead SLF-wide marketing campaigns (in particular DIY ‘do it yourself’ fundraising marketing), support the Heads and Managers with the delivery of their fundraiser acquisition and multi-million-pound income targets, act as the SLF innovation lead to improve processes and identify new trends, be the SLF GDPR lead to ensure compliance, and support the Senior Marketing & Engagement Manager with key campaigns and operational planning. You will also work closely with Insight and Development, Brand, Comms, Digital, Data and other key stakeholders across ARUK to ensure SLF processes and procedures are fit for purpose, our marketing activity is first-class and keeping up with industry competition, and that fundraisers are delighted with the management and stewardship they receive across the teams.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Line management

  • Line management of two high-performing Marketing Campaigns Officers (MCOs), supporting them with the delivery of their own marketing campaigns.
  • Supporting the development of the MCOs as highly motivated team members who achieve their campaign, performance and personal development goals.

Marketing

  • Deliver and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns and activity, including strategy and budget management, to help deliver multi-million-pound income targets in-year.
  • Manage relationships with external creative and media agencies and in-house teams.
  • Write high-quality copy and create engaging creative assets across all SLF marketing activity.
  • Maximise and explore new advertising and fundraising platforms and opportunities, such as Tiltify and TikTok.

Trends, insight and development

  • Working closely with the SLF managers, support with identifying new products, events and activities to expand our product portfolio.
  • Implement SLF-wide understanding of our key audience segments, and work with teams across SLF to identify new products and campaigns suited to these key audiences.

Monitoring and reporting

  • Lead on SLF marketing performance reporting, developing PowerBI reports to ensure detailed, up-to-date records of activity, ROI and income across campaigns and regions.
  • Support the SLF managers with accurate ROI reporting for marketing activity accompanying their income streams.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Salary: Circa £42,000 per annum, plus benefits
