Job Description
The Birmingham e-Learning Foundation (BeLF) is a well-established charity, with over 20 years’ experience in supporting digital inclusion projects in schools, both in Birmingham, and, more recently, across England and Wales. We aim to ensure that pupils are not educationally disadvantaged because of lack of access to digital devices.
We are now looking to develop a wider range of activities to support digital inclusion and to explore new ways in which we can work in partnership with local and national organisations to reduce the digital divide. We are seeking a new Chair of Trustees who can work with our recently appointed Chief Executive and other Trustees in driving a programme of change and development within the charity. This is a challenging and exciting time for BeLF, at a time when financial pressures on schools and families makes our mission increasingly important.
The new Chair will have a strong understanding of the Charity sector, as well as good governance experience and significant strategic leadership. An understanding of how schools work is desirable but not essential. You will serve as an effective ambassador for the organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive and a motivated board.
If you wish to receive a full information pack or have an informal discussion about the opportunity, please contact our Chief Executive.
The anticipated time commitment for this role is approximately a day/two days a month, including formal and informal meetings. Face-to-face meetings typically take place at the Moseley Exchange, Alcester Road, Birmingham. However, as most meetings are virtual, it is not essential for the new Chair of Trustees to be based in Birmingham.
Interviews will be held in early January.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
