Job Description
The British Nutrition Foundation is a charity dedicated to the promotion of evidence-based nutrition science to improve public health. We work to translate the latest scientific research into practical advice, guidance, and resources that can be used by the public, health professionals, and educators. Our Advisory Committee, chaired by Professor Janet Cade, Leeds University, plays a vital role in advising the Board and Senior Leadership Team on our strategic plan, and bringing an external, independent perspective.
Role Overview
We are seeking two individuals to join the Advisory Committee, with significant expertise in nutrition science or allied disciplines (sustainability, food systems) and public health respectively, both with a demonstrated ability to apply scientific knowledge to practical and policy contexts.
You will provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of topics, contributing to the strategic direction of the charity. This is a unique opportunity to critically appraise and influence the Foundation’s strategy, our scientific agenda, educational initiatives, and communication strategies.
The time commitment is up to 3 meetings per year, one of which may be in person.
Membership of the Advisory Committee is unpaid; however, reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
The British Nutrition Foundation is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within and beyond our organisation. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented groups in the nutrition field and in public health.
Join us in our mission to improve the nation’s health through better nutrition!
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
