Peer Support Worker
good shepherd services

Job Description

The role involves working with the Black Country Liaison and Diversion (L&D) service to deliver peer support. The L&D service aims to provide early intervention for vulnerable people as they come to the attention of the criminal justice system, and we are looking for experts by experience to join the team.

The aim of the role is to provide quick access to peer support for young people and adults to help prevent further involvement with criminal justice services. Training and support will be provided by Good Shepherd and the Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust to help you fulfil this role.

Peer Support Workers will have recent experience of being in contact with the criminal justice system and at least one of the key vulnerabilities for L&D, e.g., mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse and other psycho-social vulnerabilities.

At the Good Shepherd we work in a recovery focused way. You will be trained to empower people and support them to make positive changes and achieve their full potential. Your lived experience will be used as a key attribute to engage and inspire people and your knowledge and experience will support the development of the L&D service.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
